How we perceive is one thing; the external reality is something else altogether.

experience of reality, which includes all of our understanding of science and the material world, is an elaborate 'echo', 'ghost' or 'simulcra' *inside* our minds.REEL HORROR-NUMBER ONE

THE MOTHMAN

What’s that in the sky, is it a bird, is it a plane, no it’s mothman. Throughout history there has always been large bird like men creatures flying in the sky but mothman is one of the better known bird/men like creatures.

The basic description of the mothman is that it is a large brown winged creature/man which appears to have no head but its eyes (which are large and red) are in his chest.

The history of mothman began in the 1960’s in the area of West Virginia around Point Pleasant. There were sightings of an unusual creature in the Point Pleasant area, some of the early witnesses described seeing a giant butterfly, an angel and a large man-shaped figure.

But the main story of the mothman which is mentioned frequently by researchers and in detail dates back to 1966. Two young couples were joyriding outside Point Pleasant. They suddenly saw two giant red eyes. They then saw a form take shape, then a pair of wings. They drove fast yet the creature still followed them. They got to Point Pleasant and it disappeared. They headed towards to the sheriffs office who went to look for it but couldn't find it. The sheriff held a press conference to discuss the incident and the press went wild.

Sightings continued throughout winter 1966 but not only stories but physical evidence, witnesses had burn marks to the skin and inflamed swollen eyes. UFO sightings were also seen around the Point Pleasant area, as well as cattle mutations and strange men in black who were seen around the area who apparently went door to door telling the residents not to say anything about the creature.

Journalist John A Keel investigated and found that many other residents also witnessed the mothman but didn't report it. John A. Keel kept having recurring dreams about Christmas presents in water, he also received phone calls warning them not to go to West Virginia.

Point Pleasants' Main Street led to a suspension bridge (Silver Bridge) which locals would use several times a day. On 15 December 1967 the bridge started to shake then it suddenly collapsed
